| When I was a little girl and was first introduced to The Lord of the Rings, my father told me how J. R. R. Tolkien and his close friend, C. S. Lewis, another wonderful author, used to meet in a pub somewhere in England to discuss ideas, thoughts, fantastic schemes for new books, and further delve into their already published works. At that time, it was just a story. It was a bit surreal to visit this "pub somewhere in England;" it wasn't because it was this holy literary pilgrimage site I wanted to visit, but rather, I had the opportunity to visit a place so many just talk about but never visit. I am one lucky lass. |
